First Day of School 2014-2015 :)

The first day of school for Destiny Christian Academy has come and gone! It went marvelous! :)
I think this is my favorite shot of the day! It was hard to pic a favorite but I guess because he was just so cute and excited it won :)  YAY Kindergarten was what he had just said!! :)
Some cute first day shots!! He got to do one be silly shot and that is the one with the fingers in his mouth!

love the shot of our opening prayer.  I set it on the table and clicked it with my eyes closed too.  LOVE how it turned out! :)  And he is actually saying the pledge with me!  He remembers it pretty well but won't say alone yet.

Just some cute shots! He loved having a doggie pointer to do his counting and choosing:)

So love this cute kid!!! He drew his hair on the self portrait.  :)

Pics with mommy :) the one with the hand he was pretending to be an Indian and go woo woo woo :)

Just some more cute pics :)

I just LOVE this boy!!!  So glad we had a great first day!!!! :)  Praying it continues to me a great year!

Twas the night before Kindergarten 2014

So tomorrow starts Noah's Kindergarten year 2014-2015

I am so prayerful this will be a wonderful year for us both.  I am very sad tonight as I think of starting this year with out my little frogie Boy Jeremiah here in our little school :(  I KNOW that him going to Lauve's therapy program is the best for him but my heart breaks and misses him home and part of our school and I battle feeling like I am failing him.  Luckily he LOVES it there and responds so well to everyone and everything they do with him.
This was some shots last night when he and I were having some sweet time together :)

So I thought I would show you a few pics of things in Noah's calendar book this year and what curriculum choices we have gone with and all my stuff organized and ready to go :)

the top left is address, phone and emergency numbers but I blocked them for privacy, then we have our page to use dry erase marker to write the month of the year and the day of the week and then our monthly calendar for each month where we will learn all kinds of things using our calendar! :)

He will work on his name of course and he will write it each month, the first few times he will trace it and then write it alone after that.  We will be measuring his height each season for this page but I also have a page in his big binder where we will hopefully take a picture on the first of each month, weight and height as well.  We will keep track of what day of school it is using the green numbers and each day he will change them to make the number of the school year i tis.

Since he has lost a couple teeth and has a few loose ones we have a tooth tally chart in our book this year!  Thought it would be fun to see how much teeth will change over this year :)  then we have our chart to put Today, Tomorrow and Yesterday.  And a Weather chart and season.  Then our 100 days of school caterpillar :)  He will color one section of the caterpillar each day.

This shows the cover of the calendar book he decorated, some visuals for learning the books of the Bible and some some skip counting sheets. :)

and here is our curriculum for the year :)

I am quite excited about everything we have chosen.  And I was blessed to get all of it at discount prices :) some though "used" had every page clean in them, and some I had to do a little erasing but nothing major. The one above is our Phonics and Reading curriculum from Abeka.

We are going to have so much fun with our support subjects this year.  Our Health and Safety Visuals have not shown up yet so I am praying they do :)  I used this exact same science book with Celeste when she was in K but it was a different shape but some of the things inside are the same!  Emotional here! ;)

We will also be doing some songs from Sing, Spell, read and write to help along with the phonics learning :)  and the poems book is also from Abeka.  And for Bible he is doing Bob Jones Bible Truths K5.  Big Sis also did this as well many years ago :)

Math is also with Abeka :)  I love that all the subjects have so much in the curriculum guide and way more to it than just his workbooks :)  I have heard from others just get the workbooks at this age you don't need the curriculum guide, boy and I glad I was blessed to find them used and really see how much is in them.  There are entire lessons that you don't use a workbook at all but they do so much and learn so much that if you just used workbooks they would miss.

We will also of course have lots of music, reading books, and our weekly themes :)  We will also have a twice a month co op called MAD ( Music, Arts, and Drama).  We will have library once a week, Chinese school Day, Cloverbuds 4H, and an Art Day each once a month.  Not to mention his Flag Football this fall and Tball in the spring :) and we will be walking/ trike riding together too.  And I am looking so forward to more field trips with our homeschool groups!! :)

this picture was taken in August when our Church had a back to school Sunday! :)

not sure if you can see this or not! It was on a Pepsi.  If you click it will be bigger :)

This is Noah showing off his first project from our monthly art days!  Even though we are just starting our curriculum work art and field trips have already begun.  This was a self portrait with instructions for one side wild and one side calm.  He took instructions so well.  I can't remember if I posted pics from that day yet or not so I added it here in case.

I think it is going to be a wonderful year!!
I saw this and I had to save it!  I need to remember this every second of every day.  I need to remember to seek God first before my feet hit the floor and before I begin parenting or educating Noah.  Our school name is Destiny Christian Academy because of this very thing.  It is our job to help our children find their destiny in Christ!  I can't wait to see who the Lord molds Noah into as an adult.  I pray to that I will not only remember to seek God and allow HIM to mold Noah in HIS image but mold me as well.  Thanks for reading along if you are and drop me a comment :)  I hope your journey through school will bless others! :)

Sharing a few pics! :)

Just sharing a few pics as we prepare for the new school year :)

this was making our whipped cream from the cream we bought on our field trip at the dairy :)

This was the butter making with somehow mommy messed up :(  We will try this again another time :(

We started PE/ Exercise with Mommy this week and have had several things put a kink in the plans!  The plan is to go to park to walk/ride trike at least 3 days a week.  If nothing derails tomorrow we will do 2 days this week :)  These are shots from day 1.

Noah is playing flag football for the first time this year with Upwards!  He has an amazing coach who is doing all he can to help Noah to feel safe and comfy and enjoy football and give it a try :) These are pictures from first practice.

I am making me a plan book using google calendar and printing out the day view.  Above it the cover for my binder.  Which is pink!! Purple is my fav color with pink a close second :)

Noah helped me decorate his binder to keep his work in as he does it this year and his calendar book!  He had so much fun!! This boy is so into stickers! Thank you Lord for Dollar tree having some really awesome ones!

This is Noah ready tonight for his 2nd football practice.  I am having to miss this one because Jeremiah has a fever.  I so want to find me an afforable football mom shirt when I have a little money :)  I know the flag football is not "school" but it is part of making him a well rounded boy and he loves it :)

He is going to have an amazing year this year!  I will share soon about all the things we are doing in and out of the classroom( dining table :) heehee)

First Field Trip of the year!!! :) Flowing Hills Creamery

We had the most amazing time today!!! :)  We went on our first field trip for the new year!!!  :)  We are really blessed this year to be very involved in some very awesome homeschool groups :)  Today's field trip was with our CFE group to the Flowing Hills Creamery! :)

I just had to share about our day :)  I will NEVER forget it :)
Aunt Catherine rode along with us and really helped Noah and I have a great time! :)  the top right is her holding up Noah to look in at the processing and bottling room before the tour began :)

We got to see cows being milked and learn all about how the entire process works from milking to storing to pasteurizing to the bottle.

After they talked to them about it all and they were able to look through the windows and watch it all they had a video they played to reinforce what they heard before the tour and what they saw in the tour.  Then they got to learn about how to make whipped cream and butter :)

I was so so proud of Noah for doing such a great job in a new situation.  He listened so well and was very curious about it all, and even talked to the lady teaching them!  I almost cried!  The lady called Noah her little helper! ;)

They then got a little free time and then got to go on a hayride to see the horses and cows.  This was so huge for Noah.  There was not much room on the hayride so only a few parents could ride and so Noah freaked at the idea of getting on without me.  One of the ladies in the group he really loves so I asked him if he would go on with Mrs. Bryn and he agreed!!  He looked so nervous and a little sad when they left so this mama worried sick about how he was doing and that he would fall off but he came back lit up like a Christmas tree telling me all about all he saw and how wonderful it was!! :)

Then we all had our picnic and visited and the kids explored a bit!! :)  We all got to have a Chocolate Milk with our lunch and taste milk that was NON homogenized and fresh fresh!! YUMM

I did not drink all of my Chocolate Milk so that I could bring it home and share with the rest of the family to have a taste :)  and I bought a small container of the fresh butter and a small container or the heavy cream! :)  My plan is for us to make a small amount of whipped cream and a small amount of our own butter here at home! :)  The lady leading the tour told us a couple of ways to do the butter.  I thought that it would be a great follow up to the field trip! :)  We won't be able to make much but just enough to say we did it :)  and I can't wait to taste the butter we make with their fresh cream and compare it to the taste of the butter they made us there! :)

I am sooo blessed to spend such wonderful time with Noah watching him learn and explore! :)  I LOVE homeschooling! :)

The FIRST day of Kindergarten Aug 19, 2013

Well the first day has come and is done.  Seems like everything int the world came against us getting this day done and it is one of those days where as a mom I feel like I have not done right by my kids.  I was not feeing well and exhausted and not as patient and loving as I should have been.  The perfect amazing first day I had so tried to make happen was totally NOT what happend but we are started and little by little it will get there.  Lots of praying to do tonight.  I saw that look in my son's eyes of a chushed spirit when he felt like he could not do it and I wanted to kick myself.  I have to pray alot more before we get to the school lessons about how to present, how to respond, how to help, etc.  Noah reallly did wonderfuly considering all we had in our way today to make this happen.  We started out finally with heights and weights and pictures!! :)  I will record the height and weight the first school day of each month just like I did for their big sister for years :)

Noah WesLee :)

Jeremiah Harold :)

Jeremiah was NOT cooperating at first but when he got alone he finally decided to respond some :)

Jeremiah first day of school Photo shoot :)

Noah first day of school photo shoot :)

I so love my kids and pray this is an awesome school year!  I pray Noah's desire to read and write his name happen this year!!

Happy School Year all! :)
